On February 1^st Stella was checked into Doernbecher Children's Hospital after a series of head and muscle aches led to alarming blood test results.  Stella was quickly diagnosed as having Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a cancer that started in her bone marrow and quickly moved into her blood. This cancer can be fatal within only a couple of months without treatment. Luckily for Stella and her family, one of the best treatment facilities for this disease is right here in Portland, and she is receiving the best care possible.

A group of Portland based female business owners has come together to create this Stella RockStar necklace as a way to rally support for Stella and her family. Stella's mother, Dayna, is the sole proprietress of Belle Époque Salon in the Mississippi shopping district in Portland and is a much loved and respected member of the Portland business community.
